Hello Christ UMC,

I hope you are staying warm now that winter has really hit.  Worship this Sunday will warm you spirit so I hope you can join us.

This Sunday we will continue our walk through the stories of the first family of the Bible.  This week Isaac's wife Rebekah gives birth to twin brothers, Esau and Jacob.  Sibling rivalry is a mild way to describe the events in this troubled household.  These stories are entertaining but even more they are fascinating as God's message to us. Jacob  is named the trickster or deceiver and that he is, yet he is the chosen carrier of the promises of God.  Come and reflect with us on what these scriptures tell us about our lives.
See you Sunday,

 Pastor Brian

Disciple Bible Study

Pastor Brian is seeking 12 adults who want to make a serious commitment to spiritual growth. The Disciple Bible Study, a 34-week program that covers approximately 2/3 of the Bible, provides an opportunity for substantial and meaningful spiritual development. Participants devote 20 - 30 minutes a day to read and reflect on selected scriptures, and meet once a week for 2 ½ hours for shared input and group discussion. This is a serious commitment that produces significant results. In this study you will come to know the Bible and you will be encouraged and strengthened in your faith. Pastor Brian will lead the group when 12 people are registered. The group meeting will take place on Monday or Tuesday evenings, at either 6:30-9:00 pm or 7:00-9:30 pm. Interested persons should indicate their preference for day and time. The study manual is $38.00, and a group order will be placed from church once the class is finalized. Our proposed starting date is January 16 or 17. The class will meet for 17 consecutive weeks, then take a break and resume in the September, finishing in December. Pastor Brian looks forward to sharing a significant experience with those who participate.

Children's Choir

CUMC Kids Choir is off to a great start!  Please plan to meet again this Sunday after worship for rehearsal. This choir is a great way to engage our girls (no boys signed up) in a smaller group activity. I would love to come up with something that would be engaging for our boys. If you have any ideas, please send them my way.
